Dear Parents:
Welcome back!  I hope you and your child had a wonderful break.  It is now, however, time to get back to work.  The objectives are below.

Objectives to be covered this week - January 13 - January 17, 2014
1)  Students will identify who is telling the story at various points in the text.
2)  Students will read, spell and write words with the long o sound - spelled ow and oa.
3)  Students will participate in shared research (assistance of teacher).
4)  Students will use appropriate strategy to solve addition and subtraction word problems.
5)  Students will define map and globe;  identify landforms.
6)  Students will continue to work on list of sight words.

Reading A/R Books
Students are to read their library books and bring them to class every day for rereading and for A/R testing.  This week your child will be asked to identify who is telling the story in various points in the text.  As your child is reading, please have him or her think about who is telling the story in varous parts of the story or book.

Students will continue to write their weekly goals for achievement.  Discuss these goals with your child.  Example:  My goal is to make 100 on my  spelling test.
